What is vector artwork?
Ideal for simplistic graphics like logos, vector artwork uses vector equations (or geometry) to maintain a design’s proportions. This allows for designs to be resized, skewed or modified into any shape or size in exact proportions. It also supports all color types such as pantone, CMYK, RGB, etc. These attributes of vector artwork, make it ideal for recreating designs for any imprint method as it puts the imprinter in the most ideal environment to reproduce the design exactly as called out by the designer.

Questions on Embroidery
Logo size for embroidery
The size of the logo is solely up to the customer but are standard canvas sizes are listed below:
- Crest / Badge size: 4″ x 4″
(Average badge size = 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″) - Caps / Hats size: 4 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ canvas size
(Cap Average size = 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″) - Visors: 3 1/2″ x 3/4″ Canvas size
(Visor Average size = 2″ x 3/4″) - Full Size Chest / Back: 11″ x 11″ Canvas size
What kind of artwork do I need for embroidery?
One great thing about embroidery, is that we have to recreate your logo from scratch whether you have perfect artwork or a hand drawn stick figure on a napkin. Just email what you have, and we can make it work.
Do I have to pay for the digitizing fee for every job?
Once your logo is digitized, no future prep costs are charged for embroidery. As long as there are no significant changes in size or to its overall design, we can use the same logo. Changing colors, adding simple text or adding personalized names does not typically require any additional preparation charges.
What is digitizing?
In order for our embroidery machines to be able to stitch your logo, they have to programmed. This process is called digitizing.
How is embroidery priced?
The amount of time it takes to embroider a logo is, ultimately, the main determinant of cost.
The quantity of stitches required to complete a design (or “stitch count”) is used as a barometer to estimate how long it will take to complete.
Since most logos fall under similar stitch count, we charge the same unless the design’s count exceeds our maximum allowance. If the design’s count exceeds our allowance, a slight upcharge is added to the unit cost.
The challenge is that we don’t know a logo’s stitch count until we digitize it (Prepare for embroidery).
How are orders quoted if my logo has never been digitized and you don’t know it’s exact “stitch count”?
To solve this issue, our representative sets a price based of what they’re best guess is.
This initial price represents a worst case scenario bid for the initial order. If the logo’s actual stitch count exceeds our initial estimate, the original (cheaper) price is honored. If the actual stitch count is less than our original estimate, the initial price is discounted to the correct (cheaper) rate. After this initial order, future orders are priced according to the correct / actual stitch count.
The benefit of our quoting system, is that our customers receive a final price without the uncertainty of whether their order will exceed their budget once produced.
Are custom colors available?
Custom pantone colors can be matched within a few shades but, unlike screen printing and DTF printing, matching an exact color pantone color may not be possible as there are a limited quantity of thread colors offered.
Is there a way to avoid the digitizing fee?
Stock fonts and simple templates are available to save costs in preparation. Some templates require a slight fee but this is usually a cheaper option than digitizing a custom logo.

How are screen prep’s charged?
For most screen printing businesses, the screen prep’s are charged separate from the garment and the printing. But why do all that math if you don’t have to?
So we set up our quoting system to wrap up all the costs into a single unit price. So if a garment is priced at $10.00 / garment. The $10.00 price represents the garment, all the logos and all the screen prep’s.
Can I buy the screens that All Custom Gear used for my order?
No. This service is not offered
Can screen printed logos be removed or repaired?
No. Once a garment is screen printed, the ink on the garment is permanently adhered and cannot be removed. Although there are some things we can do to fix a screen printed logo, the only feasible options are to either embroider a patch or heat press a vinyl patch over a certain section.
How is screen printing priced?
For the most part, pricing is determinted by the number of colors required to print a design. A charge for 3 colors would be charged for a design that was red, white and blue. For designs that require special effects or an extra underbase layer is requested, pricing can be a little more.
Are custom colors available?
Yes. Any pantone color can be matched. “Coated” pantone colors required.
Is screen printing harmful to the environment?
Although the use of water based inks offer a greener alternative to plastisol inks, a screen printer’s environmental footprint is really determined by their work flow.
Energy usage and chemicals used during production are the main contributors to harming the environment. Our plastisol inks are handled with care and water based inks are available upon request. Chemicals used are eco-friendly and 100% biodegradable.
Questions on DTG and DT-Film Printing
Logo size DTG Printing
The size of the logo is solely up to the customer but are standard canvas sizes are listed below:
- Front Crest / Badge size: 5″ x 5″ canvas size
(Badge average size = 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″) - Front Full Chest size: 14″ x 16″ canvas size
(Front Chest Average size = 10″ x 10″) - Back Full Back size: 14″ x 16″ canvas size

(Short Sleeve Average size = 3″ x 3″) - Long Sleeve size: 3″ x 18″ Canvas size
(Long Sleeve Average size = 3″ x 12″)
What Is DTG Printing?
DTG stand for direct to garment printing. Just as it sounds, direct to garment printing is the process of specialized inks being sprayed directly onto a garment. DTG printer’s actually resemble common household inkjet printers. A specialized printhead moves side to side and as it passes, is prints out the image line by line.
What Is The Difference Between DTG And Screen-Printing?
The advantages screen printing has over DTG Printing are lower unit costs (Higher volumes) and durability. In contrast, DTG printing requires little or no preparation, can accommodate poor quality images and uses environmentally safe inks. The most notable difference for DTG printing, is the clarity and the ability to print multi-colored designs at reasonable prices… especially at lower quantities.
Slight haze or transparent square beind design
Part of the Direct to Garment (DTG) imprint process is to use an environmentally safe chemical to pre-treat the garment prior to printing. For the most part, this chemical evaporates during production, however, there may be a slight haze or rough feeling to the surface of your garment. Please note that this chemical is eco-friendly and washes completely out with the application of simple tap water. It will also not harm any other garments it is washed with.
